First Chief Minister of Haryana
There have been 10 chief ministers of Haryana since 1966. B. D. Sharma from the Congress was the first. The longest-serving chief minister of Haryana is Bhajan Lal Bishnoi, who was in charge for 11 years, 10 months (4317 days), while Bansi Lal was in charge for 4268 days.
The fifth governor of Haryana, Devi Lal, later held the position of deputy leader of India twice, under the administrations of Chandra Shekhar and V. P. Singh. As a member of three political parties, Om Prakash Chautala has held the position of Chief Minister for the longest period of time i.e. four times.
