Given equation of line,
- y = 5
comparing with,
y = 0.x + 5
Above line zero slope because it is a horizontal line parallel to the x-axis

Solution:
Change in y-coordinates is 4 – 4 = 0
change in x-coordinates is 6 – 2 = 4
So, slope is 0/4 = 0
Example 3: Determine the slope of the line with the equation y = -3x + 2.
Solution:
Given equation of line,
- y = -3x + 2
Comparing with y = mx + b
Slope of line(m) = -3
Example 4: Calculate the slope of the line passing through the points (-1, 3) and (5, 3).
Solution:
Change in y-coordinates is 3 – 3 = 0
Change in x-coordinates is 5 – (-1) = 6
So, slope is 0/6 = 0
