Advance Google Form Tips & Tricks
11. Add Logic Branching
Logic branching essentially means directing respondents to specific pages contingent on their responses. For example, declaring oneself as Australian would lead to questions about regions in Australia. Similarly, selecting an age bracket could result in receiving questions suitable for that age group.
This feature is applicable to any question that requires the user to select a single response from a list of predefined options. Simply click on the More (three-dot icon) next to the question and choose ‘Go to section based on answer.’ Afterward, you can decide the subsequent section your respondent will be directed to from the dropdown menu. Alternatively, you have the option to conclude the form by having them submit it, rather than navigating to another section.
12. Obtain a Pre-Filled Link
If you wish to set default answers on a form for your respondents, such as to expedite a contact form on your site, here’s what you can do: Select the More Options button (three-dot icon) located at the form page’s upper right corner, adjacent to the Send button, and opt for ‘Get pre-filled link.’ Then, complete the form with the responses you want to set as defaults and click ‘Get Link.’ A notification will appear at the bottom left indicating that your link has been generated. Simply click ‘Copy Link’ to copy it to your clipboard, and then you’re ready to paste and share it wherever needed.
13. Insert Google Forms Multiple Pages
To make it seem more manageable to respondents, it’s possible to add multiple pages by inserting sections.
14. Receive Notification for Submissions
If you want to receive notifications on your email when someone submits your form, you can just set this up.
15. Choose Your Response Destination
For those familiar with Google Forms, you’re likely aware of the option to save your results either in a spreadsheet or within the form itself. Deciding which option suits your needs best might be unclear. To choose you result destination,
- Navigate to the Responses tab.
