JEE Main and Advance Exam Experience

Navigating the labyrinth of JEE Main and JEE Advanced amidst the COVID-19 pandemic was a true test of resilience. As part of the COVID-19 batch, my journey through preparation was marked by its highs and lows.

Beginning my JEE prep journey at Allen Kota in 11th grade, I harbored hopes for an enriching experience. However, the onset of the pandemic swiftly transitioned everything to online learning. Unfortunately, the quality of the virtual classes fell short of expectations, leaving me feeling disheartened. Faced with this challenge, I turned to YouTube and other online resources to supplement my studies, managing to keep afloat despite the adversity.

As I progressed into 12th grade and returned to Kota, the specter of lockdowns loomed once more, disrupting our routine yet again. This time, however, Allen rose to the occasion, implementing live classes that provided a more engaging learning experience. Though the offline classes were short-lived, they provided a much-needed boost to my preparation, especially in subjects like Physics and Mathematics.

Yet, despite my best efforts, Chemistry remained a stumbling block. Inadequate revision strategies led to a shortfall in this subject, which was reflected in my JEE attempts. Despite these challenges, I managed to secure decent percentiles in both JEE Main and JEE Advanced, earning admission to NIT Patna for Computer Science Engineering.

Reflecting on my journey, I offer a word of advice to future aspirants: stick to NCERT books for Chemistry. While coaching institutes may offer valuable insights, the fundamentals covered in NCERT are indispensable. My journey is a testament to the power of perseverance in overcoming obstacles, even in the face of unprecedented challenges like those posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
