JEE Exam Experience

Hello everyone,

I am from Chennai. I am currently pursuing my BTECH UG degree from Amrita vishwa vidyapeetam which is situated in Amaravati, Andra pradesh. I have appeared for many competitive examinations such as SOF, NTSE, JEE, AE, etc. These exams are the reason for me to experience happy learning. It is not like I always had happy learning days or had a good phase of life while learning for those exams. Some days I was sick, some days I had no time learning but had to attempt those exams anyhow, some days I was not in learning mood, etc.

Preparation: I started preparing for JEE Main almost two years before the actual day. I took classes where teachers helped me to understand things better. My days were busy taking these classes, practicing problems, and continuously reviewing what I learned to make sure I understood everything correctly.

Feeling pressure: I was under a lot of pressure before the exam. My family, my teachers, and I all know how important this test is for my future. I had to balance my studies with regular schoolwork, which was hard.

Competition faced: I know I am competing with many other students who also want to do well on the test. It was kind of scary to think about how many people were trying to get into the same good college as me.

Time of use: During practice tests, I learned how to manage my time. First, I had to figure out what questions to answer and how much time to spend on each. I had to be careful not to waste time, but also not to rush and make mistakes.

Feeling nervous on test day: The day of the exam, I was nervous and excited. When I entered the examination hall, there were many other students and the atmosphere was tense. As much as I studied, I was worried about how the questions would go and whether I would be able to answer them all.

Types of questions addressed: In the exam, some questions were easy and some were difficult. I had to be flexible and think fast to deal with it all. It was hard, but I did my best to stay calm and focused.

Pending the results: After completing the test, I had to wait a while to see my score. The wait was intense because I wanted to know how I did. Every day seemed to take forever, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

Finally, I got a decent percentile in JEE Mains examination which was 89 percentile but could not qualify for the advance exam as I belong to the general category. Usually, candidates who belong to the general category, the cut-off would be around 90 percentile.
