IIT JEE Exam Experience

Hey everyone!

Today, I am going to share my competitive exam experience. After my 10th class where I scored 93% on CBSE boards, I decided to pursue my career further in computer science. I completed my 10th in 2018 and my 12th in 2020. It was the year 2020 when COVID-19 hit suddenly all over the world and impacted everyone. Even our board exams for class 12 were canceled.

In my first jee attempt which was conducted in January 2023, I scored around 86.4 percentile just by focusing on normal things like solving questions from NCERT, RD Sharma, and Pearson books. I could not give extra time for jee preparation as I had to also focus on my board exams. I scored around 82 percentile in maths, 83 in chem, and 86 in phy section respectively. Then in my next jee attempt conducted in September same year, I scored 89.6 percentile.

In those 4-5 months in between I practiced from the Unacademy app and their YouTube channel. However, this was not enough for me to get selected in jee advanced round as that year the cut-off was 90.4 percentile for a general category student. The main issue was that Covid-19 hit the preparations of students as there was no clarity of online exams or on-centre exams and it was conducted suddenly.

The exam was conducted for 3 hours for each section of phy, chem, and maths 1 hour respectively. 25 questions were given in each section of total 180 marks. So, overall this was my jee experience.
