IELTS AcademicTest Experience
Total Four modules: Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking [Simple format LRWS]
IELTS listening (my experience and how to improve the score for yours)
- Practice very well
- In my case exam listening to accent was tough (Australia)
- Try to practice from IDP, Cambridge, and British Council official websites
- Don’t use other websites like ieltsonlinetests.com like that (used for reading, writing, and speaking)
- Try to use some distractions while you listening because, in the exam center, students will type the keyboard very hard. It affects some student’s focus in this section.
- Follow instructions as per the invigilator
- Raise your hand in case any issues
- IELTS Reading
- Practice very well
- Never underestimate this module
- In this case, section 1 ( true/ false/not given type and fill. in the blanks)
Section 2 ( matching headings, Blanks, list of features)
Section 3 (MCQs, summary tough)
Time management is very important in this module

These are the questions I had been asked by the ielts examiner
My suggestions, (make sure not to do this mistakes)
- Make your brain empty and cool. (Some invigilators will not ask basic questions like are you student or not, father occupation, favourite color)
- Watch mock videos, english podcasts, news like bbc (definitely helpful)
- Part 1- give reason (example what is your favourite color – my favorite color is red. Because it is vibrant color as compared to the other colors) give reason [ why it is favourite and why you don’t like)
- Practice cue cards with timer (practice very well )
- For part 3 , they will ask follow topics on part 2
- (Give reasons like part1) if you want high band score
- Speak daily (free test on baby code app) give mock tests to know you better. use good grammar to frame the sentences in present/past/future tenses.
- Don’t underestimate yourself. Be confident when you answer. (My case, mam is always positive so I smiled when she ask questions so that she can interact with you )
- Don’t do uncessary things . Follow instructions
- Finally thank you and say if you wish have a good day mam/sir ( in my case I said merry Christmas to bring some positive response) she smiled. Sometimes it may workout.
