How much does the SAT exam cost?
The cost of the SAT exam varies depending on whether you take it with or without the optional Essay. As of the most recent updates:
- SAT without Essay: The fee is $60.
- SAT with Essay: The fee is $80.
These fees apply to test takers within the United States. For international students, additional fees may apply. There are also potential extra charges for other services, such as registering late or changing the test date or testing center. Fee waivers are available for eligible U.S. high school students who meet certain criteria, which can cover the cost of the test as well as additional benefits like free score reports to colleges.
