Govt. Model Science College Rewa Admission Experience

Government Model Science College Rewa is one of the most reputed science colleges in Madhya Pradesh. It offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various science disciplines. Here, I share my personal experience of the admission process at GMSC, Rewa.

Eligibility Criteria:

Undergraduate Courses (B.Sc):

• Must have completed 10+2 with Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology).
• Minimum aggregate marks of 75% in 10+2 (45% for SC/ST candidates).

Postgraduate Courses (M.Sc):

• A Bachelor’s degree in Science with the relevant subject as a major.
• Minimum aggregate marks of 70% in graduation (45% for SC/ST candidates).

Entrance Exams:

• B.Sc: Admission is generally based on the merit of the qualifying examination (10+2 marks). No separate entrance exam is required.
• M.Sc: Admission is based on the scores of the college’s entrance exam or merit of the undergraduate degree, depending on the specific department.

Application Process:

• Online Application: The application form is available on the college’s official website. Candidates must fill in their details, and academic records, and select their preferred course.
• Application Fee: A nominal application fee of INR 300 (subject to change) is required. Payment can be made online through various modes.

Counsellingcounselling and Seat Allotment:

• Document Verification: Candidates must attend the counselling session with all relevant documents, including mark sheets, ID proof, and category certificates if applicable.
• Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted based on merit. Once a seat is allotted, candidates need to confirm their admission by paying the requisite fee.

Documents Required:

• 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates.
• Undergraduate degree mark sheet and certificate (for M.Sc candidates).
• Transfer Certificate (TC).
• Migration Certificate
• Passport-size photographs.
• Caste certificate (if applicable).
• Income certificate (if applying for scholarships).

B.Sc Programs:

• Tuition Fee: Approximately INR 5,000 per year.
• Other Fees: Examination fees, library fees, and other miscellaneous charges sum up to about INR 2,000 per year.

M.Sc Programs:

• Tuition Fee: Approximately INR 8,000 per year.
• Other Fees: Examination fees, library fees, and other miscellaneous charges sum up to about INR 3,000 per year.

Personal Experience

My admission experience at Government Model Science College, Rewa, was smooth and straightforward. I applied for the BCA. The online application process was user-friendly, and I could easily fill out the form and submit it with the required fee.

Once the merit list was out, I was called for the counselling session. The college staff was very helpful and guided me through the document verification process. The atmosphere during counselling was well-organized and efficient. After my documents were verified, I was allotted a seat in the BCA.
