DeltaX Interview Experience For Product Engineer (On -Campus)
Recently, DeltaX conducted a one-day hiring event for Associate Product Engineer positions. The eligibility criteria required a minimum of 50% or a 5.0 GPA in B.Tech until the current date. The drive consisted of three rounds:
Round 1: Online MCQ Test
- The test lasted approximately 45 minutes and did not require a webcam.
- It covered topics related to Programming, Data Structures, Networking, and Micro-processors.
- The cutoff for this round was high, and out of 138 candidates, only 27 students advanced to the next round.
Round 2: Online Coding Test
- Candidates who cleared Round 1 received an email notification for the next round.
- This round included five questions with a total duration of 3 hours.
- Problem-solving skills related to Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) were essential.
- Webcams were active during this round, and the questions were designed by the company, making external solutions unavailable.
- Despite attempting all the questions, I struggled with one, failing to clear the hidden test cases. Fortunately, I was among the 12 students selected to proceed.
Round 3: Online Interview
Due to time constraints, my interview was scheduled for the following day.
The interview covered the following topics:
- Self-introduction
- Five-year career plan
- Motivation for joining the company
- Previous experiences in the first two rounds
- The technical questions focused on Java:
- Object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts
- Reasons for choosing Java in Round 2
- Polymorphism and Inheritance
- During the interview, I shared my screen via Notepad, and they presented the same question from Round 2.
- I received guidance on solving the problem, including handling corner cases.
- Language barriers were not an issue, as they allowed me to speak in Hindi.
- With their assistance, I successfully solved the question.
Finally, I asked about the onboarding process, and they explained that my marks from all three rounds would be considered. If my average exceeded the company threshold, I would be selected.
Ultimately, only two out of the remaining 12 students were chosen, and I was fortunate to be one of them.
