D.E. Shaw Interview Experience for SDET

Round 1 (Resume shortlisting )

I got a call from recruiter regarding an open SDET position and he explained me the requirements for the position. I did not completely fulfilled (around 75% skills was matching) the requirements but I had some expertise on other tech so my resume was shortlisted.

Recruiter mentioned there will be 4 round, 1st will be online assessment and rest 2 will be technical and a last HR round

Round 2 (Online assessment )

Total time was given 90 minutes and there was 2 coding questions, one from tree and one from graph both from hard level and 60 MCQ’s which includes core testing concepts and debugging

I was unfortunately unable to clear the round, the OA level was no joke and even the mcq’s were medium to hard level with majority of DSA based questions

Round 3 & 4(technical rounds)

I was not able to get to it but one my mate did and the technical round were very well designed coding rounds on DSA and debugging skills with core questions on SQL/NoSQL and your programming language.

The questions were like if there i a list of items that follows certain guidelines to be present there how will you verify it in UI and API automation, How to handle changing fames, why cypress, playwright or selenium

When we use SQL and NoSQL, explain your project, how did you test integration testing etc
