Christ Admission Experience for Bachelors in Information Technology
Getting into Christ (Deemed to be University) Kengeri Campus for a BTech in Information Technology was an exhilarating experience that tested my academic abilities, problem-solving skills, and personal strengths. Here’s a detailed account of my journey through the registration, online test, and interview process.
Registration and Eligibility Criteria
The first step in the admission process was ensuring I met the eligibility criteria. Christ University requires a minimum aggregate of 75% in the PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) subjects for admission into their BTech programs. I had to provide my academic records from my 12th grade CBSE board exams, which fortunately met the necessary criteria. With my marks in hand, I proceeded to fill out the online application form, providing all the required personal and academic details.
Online Proctored Test
Once my registration was confirmed, I was scheduled for the second round, an online proctored test. This test was a critical part of the selection process, designed to assess a range of skills and knowledge areas. The test consisted of 120 questions that needed to be answered in 1 hour, covering:
- General Aptitude
- Science subjects (focused on the 12th grade CBSE syllabus)
- History
Balancing speed and accuracy was crucial due to the limited time. I prepared rigorously, revisiting key concepts from my CBSE curriculum and practicing general aptitude questions. The test itself was challenging but fair, and I felt confident about my performance upon completion.
The Interview
Clearing the online test led to the next stage: the interview. The interview was scheduled for 30 minutes, during which a panel assessed various aspects of my profile. Here’s a breakdown of my interview experience:
Discussion on Interests, Marks, and Achievements:
The interview began with a discussion about my academic background, interests, and any significant achievements. I talked about my passion for technology, my consistent academic performance, and my participation in science fairs and coding competitions.
Scenario-Based Questions:
The panel presented two scenarios to gauge my problem-solving abilities and thought process.
- Improving Sports in India: I suggested implementing better infrastructure at the grassroots level, promoting talent identification programs, and increasing funding for sports education in schools.
- Tackling Corruption in India: My approach focused on enhancing transparency through digital governance, strengthening anti-corruption laws, and promoting public awareness campaigns.
Presentation Topic:
Finally, I was given a minute to speak on how AI can revolutionise classroom learning. I emphasised AI’s potential to personalise education, provide real-time feedback, and enhance learning through interactive and adaptive content.
