C. V. Raman Global University(CGU) Campus Experience

I study at C.V. Raman Global University, a well-regarded college located in the heart of Odisha, in Bhubaneswar. I am currently in my second year, and I would like to share my honest experiences from these two years.

Campus

The campus of C.V. Raman Global University is spread over 100 acres and has plenty of greenery, but it is situated on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, requiring a travel distance of 20-30 km to reach the campus from the main city. The campus includes all the necessary labs for students’ academic careers. Students with an idea or who want to start a startup can walk into the IIC cell and propose it to the concerned team.

College Fests

The college organizes a fest every year in mid-March called Celegance. It is a well-regarded event that lasts for two days and features performances by celebrities and students.The energy during these festivals is electric, uniting students, faculty, and industry professionals in a celebration of innovation and cultural diversity.

Placement

As I am still in my second year of college, I don’t have much information about the placement scenario. However, from what I have gathered from my seniors, the placement department is not very active at my college. Despite this, the number of placements remains good, possibly due to the efforts of students and the cooperation of the faculty. The absence of campus internships for third-year students and a one-person-one-company rule for final-year students in a three-tier college pose challenges. Nevertheless, the overall placement count remains good.

Conclusion

In my experience, the majority of students at the college come from Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha, but people from all over are here. I’m personally from Bihar, and there are 15 other Biharis in my class. There are opportunities, but there’s also a lot of competition. If you’re good enough, you’ll seize those opportunities before others. Clubs barely exist; they mostly just organize workshops, and there isn’t a community-type club here right now. This might change in the future, but who knows? .
