Airports Authority of India (AAI) Entrance Exam Experience

In this article, I will be sharing my journey of taking an entrance exam conducted by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for a Junior Executive (Common Cadre) post.

So, it all started when I was on the verge of completing my graduation. When I was in the last semester of my graduation, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) released the registration forms for the Junior Executive (Common Cadre) post and immediately I checked the eligibility criteria because that’s the first thing that everyone checks before filling out the form. I had only 2-3 months to complete the syllabus as my end-semester exams were going to take place in July 2023 and the entrance exam was scheduled for October 2023. I had no choice but to start preparing for both exams side by side.

So, my routine was to get up at 7:00 AM and start my preparation for end-semester exams. I used to study for 2-3 hours in one stretch, then take a break for 1 hour and then again start studying for college exams. Then, from afternoon till night, I used to give time to entrance exam preparation. All this while, I had faced many situations in which I thought that I should study for one of the exams and ignore the other. But I stood up and continued my preparation for both exams.

After my end semester exams were over in July 2023, I had full day and night to prepare for this exam but in 2-3 months only. This entrance exam conducted by AAI examines you in the areas of General Intelligence, English, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness. There are a total of 150 questions where you will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer and there is no negative marking. As I was having 2-3 months only, I had no choice but to practice in this much time. So, I started my preparation by completing maths chapters with taking help of YouTube, and some reference books and then checking my knowledge of that topic by giving mock tests. Mock tests helped me a lot during my preparation as they are a kind of real test, but the only difference is that we give them from our home. My suggestion to you would be to analyse the mistakes that you made in the mock test and rectify those errors as soon as possible. Also, you can buy a course that different coaching institutes are providing or join their test series. You can also install Telegram and join different channels that are being made by teachers as they provide a lot of free study material there.

So, fast forward to October 2023, I appeared for the exam and I was able to solve 98 questions. The mistake that I thought I made during the exam was that I had given too much time to a single question which you should avoid doing. So, finally, I would say that you should have a strong knowledge of each subject that is to be asked in the exam and increase your question-solving speed as it would take you ahead of other aspirants.
